Know Your 0G Nodes: Requirements and Responsibilities

0G’s growing ecosystem entails multiple node types, which collectively serve as the  infrastructural backbone that makes verifiable, high-performance intelligence possible onchain. Running one of these nodes is one of the most impactful ways you can contribute to the growth of decentralized AI.

By participating as a node operator or delegating your stake to one, you simultaneously help secure the 0G ecosystem, enable the scalability and transparency required for AI-native applications, and earn rewards in the process!

0G Nodes, Explained

0G is designed as a modular, infinitely scalable Layer 1 for AI. For this vision to work, the network relies on a diverse set of nodes. Each node type has a distinct role, from securing consensus to storing data to monitoring AI integrity.

  • Validator Nodes secure consensus and validate transactions.
  • Storage Nodes host datasets, models, and proofs.
  • Data Availability (DA) Nodes deliver data to rollups and AI workflows with speed and reliability.
  • Archival Nodes preserve the full history of the chain for transparency and research.
  • AI Alignment Nodes provide an additional layer of oversight, monitoring network behavior and ensuring AI processes remain safe, accountable, and aligned with system rules.

Together, these nodes create a distributed operating system for AI, enabling trustless, scalable, and verifiable intelligence onchain.

Operation requirements vary across node types. This technical diversification is necessary for 0G to function effectively, and also results in a broader set of earning opportunities for 0G community members with varying technical resources.

Run Your Own 0G Node

0G node operators are essential for ensuring that AI can be truly decentralized and accessible to all. Whether you are validating transactions, storing models, or preserving history, operating a node is your chance to take part in shaping the future of decentralized intelligence.

Participate Through NaaS Delegation

Not every community member has the technical resources or knowhow to run their own node infrastructure. To make node participation more accessible, 0G is onboarding a set of professional Node-as-a-Service (NaaS) providers that 0G token holders can delegate their stake to for a share of the collective rewards.

These vetted providers will handle the intricacies of node setup, maintenance, and uptime. All you need to do is choose your preferred NaaS provider and enjoy passive returns as you help collectively help secure and scale decentralized AI.
